I've had a couple people ask me about why my blog posts take a week or more to show up in their RSS feeds. The answer is that your feed isn't slow, the blogger is. I keep daily notes in a hand written journal but usually only sit down to my computer once a week or so. I didn't start out this way. I had intended to blog daily or almost daily, anyway. My life got in the way. The first time I sat down to write after missing several days, I decided to back date entries so that the post date matched the date events actually happened. I thought this was more aesthetically pleasing and it made for better reading. One side benefit is that time occasionally provides better perspective and what I write is better for stewing around in my brain for a few days.
Of course, there are exceptions to this rule. Take this post, for example. I don't remember when I talked to folks about my magic post dates, but the notes for May 5 were a boring list of all the errands I ran that day. You really don't want to read about my trip to Menard's, Borders, Bed, Bath & Beyond, The Chalet and Macy's. You definitely don't want to read about how I managed to buy a pair of earrings before lunch and lose one of them before dinner.
